It's very important that all who are picking up and dropping off campers are aware of driveway procedures.
Please read through the following to properly understand the traffic flow for our carline during drop-off and pick-up. The gates are numbered to help identify their locations. We ask for your patience, especially over the first few days, as we all adjust to the beginning of the school year. Please be aware that per AZ State Licensing, all preschool age children must be properly signed in and out with a full signature each day. For now, the staff will be completing the full signatures as this helps reduce the sharing of pens and clipboards.

These pick-up times are staggered so as to avoid drive congestion.
If you arrive at Gate 1 or Gate 2 prior to your suggested arrival time, and another class is still being picked up, we may ask you to circle the small pool and queue up again.
Late arrival/Early Pick-Up: If you are arriving early for pick up, you must call the school directly at (480) 451-7453. Please note that we request that you stick to the drop-off and pick-up times as closely as possible so as to avoid a constant flow requiring office staff to leave their job post. If you arrive within 10 minutes of your child’s dismissal time, you will be required to wait in the carline. Please plan accordingly.
Before Care: begins at 7:30 a.m. You must be registered for before care. Before care is included in the extended care fees. Unless there is prior communication, we are unable to accommodate drop-ins. You will remain in your car and will be greeted by gate 1 where an administrator will meet you to take your child’s temperature. A counselor will walk your child to their camp classroom and sign them in. Please be patient as this process may take additional time as we all get adjusted to the new routine.
After Care: Please call the phone number posted on Gate 1. You should also save it in your phone: (480) 540-0463. Your child will be brought to you and the teachers will sign them out.
Sibling Pick-Up: Your younger child will be brought to your oldest child’s pick up gate.
Please read on for specific driveway procedures and expectations for each of the gates.
Gate 1 Drop-off and Pick-up Procedures
*Location: By the small pool
- All students are dropped off at gate 1.
- Please stay in your car and stop at the first stop sign.
- You will be greeted by a member of administration who will take your child’s temperature at the first stop sign. They will then wave you to an additional stop sign where a staff member will greet your child and walk them to class.
- Classroom teachers will be signing all students in with their signatures and the time that you arrive.
- Parents must unbuckle their own children for safety reasons.
- On your child’s first day, you will receive a color-coded name tag to hang from your car mirror. It must be present at drop-off for a quick and smooth process.
- You must arrive at your child’s scheduled drop-off time to assist with the proper flow of traffic.
- For the safety of our students and staff, our driveway is a NO CELL PHONE USE zone, including texting. You will be confronted about cell phone use if necessary.
When you come to the drop-off/pick-up circle by the small pool, hang your colored tag from your rearview mirror. At drop-off this will allow staff to call your child by name, and the color will indicate your child’s classroom. At pick-up the tag identifies which child you are there to pick up. Please keep your tag on display until you have driven all of the way through the drive. Please use your mirror hang tag all year.
When dropping off or picking up your child, pull up as far as you can (up to the stop sign if you can) and then stay at your car. You are required to get out of your car to help your child buckle or unbuckle, but please stay by your car (as opposed to coming to the gated area). We will come get your child or bring your child to you.
Important Notes Regarding Gate 1:
- There are 2 lanes. Please pull forward as far as you can in either lane.
- In order to keep the students safe and to avoid traffic jams, we only bring children to the cars in the ‘loading zone’. The loading zone includes the group of cars that are closest to the gate and are between the 2 drive signs. We never bring children to cars that are parked outside the loading zone.
- When the drive is busy, one of our staff members will be in the drive providing guidance.
- If the cars behind you are loaded before your child appears, you may be asked to circle the drive.
Gate 3 Pick-Up Procedures
*Located on the West side of the school, by the large pool
When you come to the pick-up lanes by the large pool, hang your colored tag from your rearview mirror this will help us identify which child you are there to pick up. Please keep your tag on display until you have driven all of the way through the drive. Please use your mirror hang tag all year.
When picking up your child, pull up as far as you can (up to the stop sign if you can) and then stay at your car. Please get out of your car to help your child buckle or unbuckle, but please stay by your car (as opposed to coming to the gated area). We will bring your child to you.
During pick up, we bring the students for the first six cars at one time (the first 3 in each row.) You will buckle your child into their car seat. Once everyone is loaded one of our staff (using a STOP/GO sign) signals that these six cars can drive away, and that the next six cars can move into position. Then we will load the next six cars.
Important Notes Regarding Gate 3:
- The parents stay at their cars and do not come to the gate.
- Pay close attention to the person holding the sign so that the kids and teachers moving between the cars are safe. Once you are stopped, please do not inch your car forward until the stop sign is removed and your group of six cars are exiting the campus. YOU MUST OBEY THE DIRECTIONS FROM THE STAFF MEMBER HOLDING THE SIGN FOR SAFETY.
- Hanging your colored mirror hang tag will speed up this process.
- For the safety of your child and the efficiency of the drive process, we require that parents unbuckle/buckle their child’s car seat.
Please read on for important safety information and other general driveway information:
General Drive Information
Cell Phones: Student safety is our top priority. It is required that you refrain from all cell phone use, including texting, during our driveway times.
Conversations: We love talking with our parents, but engaging in conversations during pick up is not the appropriate time. Please email/call to set up an appointment if you need some one-on-one time with your child’s teacher.
Mirror Hang Tags: So as to speed up drop-off and pick-up we ask that you hang your mirror hang tag from your mirror during drop-off and pick-up times. This speeds up the process and assures the safety of the kids. If you need a mirror tag, please ask!
Stay AT your car: We must reiterate that at no point should you walk over to the gates during drop off or pick up. Please allow the staff members to come to you.
Authorized Pick up: If there is a change in the person picking up your child, you must notify the office so that we can authorize them for pick up. They will be asked to show identification.
